So, I have to congratulate myself on sticking to the list I created here and SEVERELY reducing my random shopping and basically spending in general. I have not bought much since the new year, and what I have bought have become wardrobe staples and much loved items. If you know me, that is a big step in the right direction. My original list of needs was:
What I need (need is a funny word after all):
1. leopard heels (sensing a pattern)
2. button downs for layering
3. infinity scarves (I wear mine to death, and should buy more to jazz up basics)
4. the perfect nude heels (good for work AND play)
5. a colored boyfriend cardigan
6. more full skirts (always my faves)
7. thin gold stacking rings (2-3)
Revisions/Scores
1. The pair I originally wanted had some issues. A shiny, mirrored metallic stripe being one of them...back to the drawing board. Still want a pair, though!
2. Have retailed and thrifted several - am enjoying all my new layering options :).
3. Have bought two - love them both. Will take a break from looking for these.
4. No dice - too high or too low....still on the hunt. Tempted by these:
5. Have tried many of these on, and I am just not sure if they are right for my bod! I usually just wear things I love, as long as they fit me, regardless of whether they are "flattering" per se, but I am not sure I am going to continue to pursue this one. May switch it up to look for cotton crew neck sweaters for layering.
6. Ordered this from ASOS (on clearance, obvi). Will post about whether I like it or not!!! Could be amazing, could be horrific.
7. Have not taken the plunge. Perhaps a future present from my ever-spoiling husband ;).
I am really happy with how my new method of shopping has worked for me. Since being honest with myself about stuff I might actually use again and again, I have not experienced my most hated shopping side effect - buyer's remorse. Thus, I am sticking with my list though and through, and adding these:
1. perfect jean jacket
2. colored blazer
4. beautiful blouses (machine washable)
5. black ankle boots (or maybe I should just buy my beloved brown boots in black??? help!!!)
Here goes.

It's about time
I have "athletic calves" - but not athletic enough to need what is referred to as "extended calf" boots. They are baggy on me and I tend to look like a child in rain boots in them. Due to this dichotomy, I pretty much never buy boots above ankle height. I have been stalking these boots for a while now and finally pulled the trigger last week:
...and they actually fit me nicely with a bit of room, even over jeans. So, I'm overly excited about them, even thought they were a splurge for me. Be warned: they are a not particularly slimming on the ankle compared to a more fitted boot, but that does not bother me enough to deter from the color, fit, and quality of the leather. I just should have bought these bad boys two years ago when I first saw them!!!

What have I bought for me lately...and need to as well...
I am, as many of the fairer sex, am a complete and total shopaholic. I love nothing more than new clothes, and the thrill of the hunt is the only sport I enjoy. Lately, it has become more and more obvious to me how badly I need to shop with a list, instead of hunting and pecking what catches my eye. I have been stocking up on things I need, but I still have some more must haves to go.
What I have nabbed:
1. chambray shirt
2. cargo vest
3. leopard scarf
4. leopard flats (smoking slippers, to be exact)
5. fair isle sweater
6. tuxedo jacket
7. perfect metallic heels

details, details...
This is what matters most to the average type-A gal- of which I am most certainly one. My wedding was certainly about marrying C, bringing our families' together, and creating a relaxed, loving atmosphere, but it was also about the little things. I wanted every nook and cranny to look like it belonged, and I think I kind of nailed it :).
You be the judge :).

Home is Wherever I'm With You
I am a nester. There. I said it! And now that I am also a wife, the nesting stuff has really taken the front seat. I have so many home design obsessions that I can barely keep up, but here are some things that WILL be happening to my rather eclectic home sooner rather than later :).
1. New, light-gray sectional: This is a long time coming (if you ask me, but not if you ask Christian), and is already ordered, along with an amazing ottoman.
2. Doggie-proofing: We are getting a dog! Well, inheriting one, sort-of. But we are preparing for her sweet little face in a very big way - with gates, crates, and a dog door, to be exact.
3. Lucite Trays: I am so loving this right now...need some for my bathroom and spiffy new living room...
4.Wedding Photos: Framed and hung...nuff said :)
